I’ve tried a couple of wearable vibrators that promised to stay put and then spent the whole evening quietly readjusting themselves, so I went into the Lush 4 with fairly low expectations on the “stays in place” front. It pairs over Bluetooth 5.0 to the free Lovense Remote app, with a claimed range of around 13 meters locally and no distance limit at all when a partner connects remotely over the internet. A full charge takes about 50 minutes on the included magnetic cable, and a 5-minute emergency top-up buys roughly an hour of runtime. Lovense rates the battery at up to 7 hours, which is a real upgrade from earlier Lush generations. It’s IPX7 waterproof, fully submersible for cleaning, and rated under 36dB at low-to-medium intensity, so it’s genuinely quiet once inserted. The tail also has a programmable LED strip that changes color with intensity, controllable (or fully disable-able) from the app.
THE EXPERIENCE
Pairing took a couple of minutes the first time and reconnected automatically after that whenever the app was open nearby. The motor is on the heavier, “rumbly” end of the spectrum rather than a thin buzz, and the low settings are genuinely low, which matters if you want to ease into it rather than get thrown in the deep end. The fixed tail took a session or two to find the right fit against my body, but once it settled in, it stayed in place through normal movement without needing to be checked on. My husband and I used the remote-control feature during a weekend when he was traveling, and it turned out to be a nice way to stay connected without either of us having to think much about the tech side of it, the app just worked. Noise-wise, it lived up to the quiet reputation; nobody in the next room would have known it was on unless I told them.
THE VERDICT
A well-engineered, genuinely quiet wearable that solves the two biggest complaints people have about this category: toys that fall out of place and toys that broadcast themselves through the wall. The battery life alone makes it worth the modest premium over older Lush models. The main caveat is the fixed tail shape, which fits most people well but isn’t adjustable, so it’s worth checking Lovense’s sizing notes if you’ve had trouble with rigid tails before.
